It was our first experience of living in Bruges, Belgium, and night photo session with tripod.

Later we have found that some photos turned out to be paired – by day and at night.
Let me show you.

An illumination of the buildings switched off after this shot – all. As if somebody in Heaven decided: Enough! Now to sleep! And pulled a switch, left only night-light – a moon.

The photos of Bruges central square with an ugly stand for spectators and these spectators, hanging around.

Channels and swans. People call Bruges “North Venice”. May be, but there are less channels here and all town is well-kept, whitewashed and cleaned in contrast to littered decaying and falling apart Venice.

This is one of the most beautiful streets-channels of Bruges.

And again a streets and side streets, tiny and a little bigger, all like a toys on an exhibition.

Very nice square with Basilica of the Holy Blood. You can meet a little squares unexpectedly at every step.

We was thinking this is a church. No, – restaurant

This is a modern building, but seems it is about 300 years old.

Bruges is unique town; man can wander and watch forever.

The central entrance to this church was bricked up and we have not find another one.

And mystical
March 5, 2012 at 9:22 am
GREAT pictures – as always thank you for sharing. I am adding this as a place to visit as I create my dream list for 2013-2014.
March 5, 2012 at 9:23 am
Beautiful shots of a beautiful city! Well captured
March 5, 2012 at 9:44 am
very nice Victor. Good eye.
March 5, 2012 at 10:25 am
Amazing place. But so much water. I think the buildings have to be damp inside. Beautiful architecture though.
March 5, 2012 at 12:15 pm
No. This is not Venice. Everything OK.
March 5, 2012 at 9:39 pm
Glad to hear it.
March 5, 2012 at 10:42 am
Great pictures – I like Bruges – thanks for reminding me!
March 5, 2012 at 10:46 am
I love Bruges. It’s where I bought my first bottle of wine, back in in ’69.
March 5, 2012 at 12:14 pm
Oh, 23 years ago! How much of wines You have drank since then
March 5, 2012 at 11:10 am
I love the canals. I recently found them among my photos from many years ago. Your images are so nice.
March 5, 2012 at 11:59 am
The photos at night are my fav – amazing
I have never been there, but my mom told me how beautiful it is
March 5, 2012 at 12:09 pm
May be it’s time to see it yourself?
March 5, 2012 at 12:13 pm
If I had the time & money for, yes
March 5, 2012 at 12:19 pm
It’s in your hands, believe me!
March 5, 2012 at 12:21 pm
I only get a small pension, so it s hard for me to afford trips. When I get the chance to I prefer to fly to Tunisia or Egypt for 2 weeks a year
March 5, 2012 at 12:28 pm
Egypt now?! I have been to Egypt two times. Bruges is much more better!
March 5, 2012 at 12:46 pm
Why not? I love arabic countries & I need sun. By the way one week (bed & breakfast) in Germany or another European country costs more than 2 weeks all inclusive there
March 5, 2012 at 12:58 pm
Yes, yes, I know, but Paris vaut bien une messe. And Europe too
March 5, 2012 at 1:08 pm
Valid point
March 5, 2012 at 1:55 pm
The night photos are great… I like them more
March 5, 2012 at 8:22 pm
Because they are unusual.
March 5, 2012 at 2:33 pm
Very well captured. Really like the way you have given the day and night photos of the same building. We’ve been to Bruges and it felt like we were on a memory rewind. I’m yet to get my hands right on night shots. Is tripod the only secret? No aperture changes?
March 5, 2012 at 8:18 pm
What do You mean – optic or computer application?
March 7, 2012 at 12:49 am
No not on computer. Did you have to adjust your aperture etc in your camera or keep it on the automatic but night mode?
March 7, 2012 at 3:05 am
I don’t remember for sure – it was two years ago – but I think it was not automatic mode.
March 6, 2012 at 10:45 am
one of my favorite cities. it’s like living in a fantasy land.
March 6, 2012 at 11:11 am
And mine too.
March 6, 2012 at 12:58 pm
Thanks so much for stopping by! I love this, I’ve always wanted to hit the same spots after dark and put my tripod to good use…but it’s hard to coordinate when traveling with other students who don’t care, haha.
I love the shot with the moon the most
March 6, 2012 at 9:25 pm
Someday You will be traveling without them.
March 8, 2012 at 9:52 pm
Beautiful city. Great captures. I find that night shots are always more dramatic. Although day shots with the right light can be as dramatic too. Thanks for visiting.
