Cite De Carcassonne – Book In Stone

We don’t leave our home for too long, choosing rather several short-term trips a year. We rent a car and crisscross the Europe, but not without a goals of course. Each of us has their own must see list as if we create our peculiar precious necklace, picking from the treasured pearls. Today it is the Сite de Carcassonne in Languedoc-Roussillon, France.

It’s hard to write about such places – Carcassonne history is closely connected with the hunt for the Holy Grail and tragic destiny of the powerful Order of Knights of the Temple, Templars. I wish I were some new Dan Brown to tell you this story as it ought to be told. :-)

Your Majesty, I Am Not Agree About Mezquita de Cordoba

Mezquita de Cordoba history is typical for this region of Spain, Andalusia, – many centuries ago the ancient Roman temple located in this place, after – the Visigoths church and in 785 the great mosque – Mezquita appeared in here. It became the second in significance mosque in the whole world, and the hegira to Cordoba has equated to the hajj to Mecca, canonical for every Muslim.

And after that the Christian church was constructed or, to be more exact, built-in right inside the mosque.

Of course Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba became on of “must see” points of our to-go list. Córdoba had even been emphasized over Sevilla per overnight stays. Arguments? The greater amount of sightseeing.

Our Adventure on the Epiphany of the Lord: Russian Winter, Russian Cuisine and Russian Bath

When you are going to distant Russia, you are always caught between: to go in winter or in summer? The most tourists definitely choose russian winter – the desperate ones! :-) So, we also went to Russia to celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord.
