Mezquita de Cordoba history is typical for this region of Spain, Andalusia, – many centuries ago the ancient Roman temple located in this place, after – the Visigoths church and in 785 the great mosque – Mezquita appeared in here. It became the second in significance mosque in the whole world, and the hegira to Cordoba has equated to the hajj to Mecca, canonical for every Muslim.

And after that the Christian church was constructed or, to be more exact, built-in right inside the mosque.

Of course Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba became on of “must see” points of our to-go list. Córdoba had even been emphasized over Sevilla per overnight stays. Arguments? The greater amount of sightseeing.

You may not be delighted with the methods of Heinrich Schliemann, just like the true archeologists are, but you could not but take off hat to such a strong belief in oneself and own knowledge.

The Greeks forgot where Troy is.

The Greeks forgot where Mycenae is.

Schliemann discovered and showed them their own history.

Neuschwanstein Castle – Decoration for Life

When I was preparing to visit Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles in Bavaria, I have found in one of the blogs a resuming impression about the first one as a monument to solitude. And I was like: “What a nice title for the future blogpost”. It is commonly known that a proper title is already half of the battle, and I only had to go to Bavaria, take some pictures of the castles and develop this idea.

However when I parked at the parking place number two in the village Schwangau, located at the footing of Neuschwanstein, and went out of the car I immediately realized that my own impression on the most beautiful castle in the world would be completely different.
