The underwater map of the world has few great snorkeling locations. We constantly look for new places, learning about the Seychelles, Belize, or the Bahamas, but every time, we return to the Maldives.

It seems like snorkeling does not require special training and expensive equipment: just buy a mask and fins, and you can admire underwater life as long as you want or can. However, the incredibly beautiful and extremely fragile global coral reef ecosystem is threatened with extinction, so for a healthy coral reef, you will have to search. Unfortunately, in most cases, it will not be located near your home.

Everything is nearly perfect on this tiny tropical island located about 67 km from the equator in the Indian Ocean. It has a beautiful coral reef with a very active underwater life, exotic jungles among beach and garden villas, white sand, blue sky, emerald water, fantastic sunrises and sunsets—everything you imagine when someone says the magical word “Maldives.” However, chances are that excluding sunrises and sunsets, the rest of the local beauty will be destroyed in the near future. Fly to the Maldives Whenever You Can

If you can see a forest and mountains from a window of your house, chances are, you don’t need anything more. It is another matter if your window shows you only the big, modern, and never sleeping city, living its life. Sooner or later, you will feel the need to hear the sound of ocean waves, and not car horns. I admit that walking around the ingenius Neuschwanstein castle is a great pleasure for me, but the best medicine to cure the mad rhythm of any megalopolis is a flight to the Maldives.

A several-hour flight is a mere trifle if you fly to the Maldives. For these islands, I am ready to go to the ends of the Earth. It is year-round summer here. The Indian Ocean outside the window is whispering something again, and the rains are so warm.
